The engraving in plastics is one of our most common activities. There are two variations, standard engraving and mirror engraving. In the standard way of engraving the engraving material consists of two distinct colors of plastic. We engrave trough the top layer, so that the color of the bottom layer will appear. For example, a white sign with black lettering. This engraving material is available in a wide variety of colors.
The other variation is mirror engraving. In this method the colored layer at the backside of the plate will be engraved off so that only the transparent layer will remain visible. Then the deepened parts are ready to be varnished is any color.
The benefit of this is that you can put multiple colors on one plate while remaining a smooth surface.
